Valentine’s Day is coming up and I wanted to make some sort of a decoration, something cute. Since I gave up on doing crafts uninterrupted 4 yeas ago (when Bella was born), I had to come up with an idea that she could be involved in, on top of the Valentine’s Day paper crafts that we’ve already done as part of her art studies.
So I decided on a button heart wall art to match the colors of her “Owl room.”
I painted a plain picture frame that we got from Hobby Lobby with an acrylic gloss paint in “Fresh Lime.”
While I was painting, Bella played with buttons, sorted them in different ways and made a big huge mess :).
Next I drew a heart on a piece of scrapbook paper and mod podged the paper onto the backing of the picture.
I then mod podged the face of the paper and let Bella lay the buttons on the heart that I traced.
I gave it another coat of mod podge for a good measure and voila!
We had a cute heart to hang in her room for Valentine’s Day. I have to say, I like how it looks in her room so I intend on leaving it there.
